Covre is a family name: we are craftsmen, masters of saddlery. We have always worked with leather and hide. The original part of our laboratory continues to collaborate in the supply of semi-finished products covered in leather and hide for the most important Italian and foreign companies in the high quality furniture sector.

Alongside the laboratory, the new generation of Covre has recently founded the CASA COVRE brand: with this logo Matteo and Eleonora Covre produce and directly sell a rich catalogue of furniture products in which leather and hide are of great importance, but not only. Together with hide and hide, other materials express their technical and aesthetic characteristics: giving the best to each product, with the expertise of a rich “tradition” of processing materials, combined with the historic Italian excellence of “making design”.

The Covre family has been working with leather and hides since its origins the art of saddlery. “Selleria” in ancient times it was the workshop where carriages, saddles and harnesses, and leather goods in general, were manufactured and repaired.
In saddlery, very sturdy leather was used: it required tailoring expertise to create curved surfaces, such as in saddles, with cuts and joints of leather segments joined by stitching called “a sellaio”.

The work is done by people: Matteo Covre is supported by a team of art directors, designers, stylists, marketing and technical departments. The development process from idea to product is the very meaning of “project”.
