CASA COVRE
Furnishing a villa in Florence
The entire construction was involved in the project, from the entrance of the property to the living spaces.
Project by Arch. Marina Bani
Modern, but not minimal
The hosts’ style inclined towards simple lines though without sacrificing any attention to detail and finishing touches. Modern, but not minimal, allowing the rediscovery of the all-Italian love for beautifully designed private residences. From the property’s entrance up to its stairs, everything follows clean and simple lines, like the thread of the parapet that ideally “sews” the house together as it spirals up the floors.
The Mediterranean light warms the rooms as it floods through the large south-facing windows of the grand living room on the ground floor.
The focal point of the room is the sizable fireplace; next to this, a large custom-made fitted wall frames the Lido sideboard in canaletto walnut and leather, while the Lido chest of drawers is placed next to the adjacent wall. A refuge for a married couple whose desire was to surround themselves with thoughtful details and beautiful materials, whilst maintaining a simple and clean atmosphere as a whole.
